Online Sourcing: My Morning Routine

As part of my business model for selling items online through Amazon’s FBA program, I source items from online sources. This allows me to have the products delivered straight to my door and already packed up for shipment to an Amazon warehouse.

This video walks you through a typical morning of online arbitrage. I show you the five sites that I primarily use for online sourcing and deal finding. I also talk about the things I look for in a product and how I can determine if it is a good purchase or not. I also come across three possible products during the video and have shared the links of the products on www.fbamaster.com.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below and I will answer them as soon as I can.

For future information, anything you can add to your online sourcing strategies, other sites, etc.
Maybe show us step by step, once your shipment comes in, how you prep it, record it to Amazon and send it off to Amazon.. Don’t want to see what you are buying, just one example of how it’s done.

        Thanks Chris.

Also if you have gone through the process of gated products.

Good topic. I have helped a few people get un-gated in Grocery, Beauty, Health, and I am working on Clothing right now (just have a few corrections to make before approval). I’ll try to document my process for everyone.

Great video – just wish you could slow down a little. Don’t know what you are clicking on to get this to populate, etc. Are you right clicking? Left clicking? And towards the end I couldn’t watch anymore because all the fast scrolling up and down was actually starting to make me nauseous! (I get motion sickness pretty easily). I think once I go on those sites and use them more, it will make more sense, but as a complete beginner, I couldn’t follow well. But I will keep trying! Thanks!!

Amy – Thanks for the feedback. I tried to slow things down a bit, but I will make sure to slow them down more on future videos. Sometimes I get excited and then my brain starts going faster than my mouth and things get crazy. If there is anything I can explain in more detail, just let me know.

Great video Chris. Curious, how often would you say you actually get the asking price you are putting into the FBA Calculator when you resell? And, have you had any trouble buying from 3rd party sellers to resell on Amazon?

Thanks again for sharing the info!

I am typically getting my asking price around 70% of the time. I do make mistakes (which account for about 10%) and sometimes I lower the price a bit to move inventory due to finding another good deal.

As for third party sellers, I typically only buy from them if there is Prime shipping (a sign that Amazon has the product in hand) or bigger named Amazon stores with high ratings.

Thanks Trevor – I just recorded another video and I tried to be a little slower and louder, so we will see if it’s any better. If not, I am going to be looking into getting some better equipment (still looking if I want to invest in it or not) to record the sound.

Hi Chris I’m a brand new seller. Looks like your actually buying from Amazon and then re-selling at FBA? Interesting.

On some items, yes I am (from an account not tied with my seller account or Prime membership). Other items I am buying from other online retailers or wholesalers.

    Hi Chris,

From my experience, I notice that If AZ runs out of stock, and notes on its listing that it is temporarily out of stock but will restock in a few days, most buyers will wait rather than pay my higher price even if it is the next lowest FBA price on the listing. Where am I going wrong here? Good video by the way.
